Advanced Clinical massage is an outcome based massage therapy similar to sports therapy, which can decrease pain and improve mobility. It is a mixture of eastern and western techniques that treat the individual not just the disease. Each treatment is tailor made and the techniques used have been proven to be helpful for both chronic and acute conditions. Being particularly effective for people who have been living with chronic pain.

Being in pain can have a negative impact on all aspects of your life. Making it difficult to concentrate or physically do your job, as well as the things you enjoy doing in your free time. Insomnia can be a major problem, leading to tiredness and irritability, putting a strain on your relationships and your ability to cope with every day stresses. Painkillers are a great quick fix but not a good long term solution. Within 1-6 massage sessions I can dramatically reduce your pain and improve your range of motion, helping you to enjoy life again. Each session can include :

Fascial Work – I will be working with the Fascia directly using Rolfing techniques and/or indirectly using MFR-Myofascial Release to stretch and soften these important connective tissues.

Deep Tissue Massage and Trigger Point Therapy – I will use deep tissue massage techniques to work down through the muscles and tissues, searching for problem areas, trigger points and releasing tension

Stretching – I use three different types of stretching, these styles are popular with physiotherapists and sports therapists. Passive stretching / Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation stretching / Active Isolated Stretching

We will work with whichever stretches are most suitable and beneficial to you

Table Shiatsu – This is an eastern technique that involves gentle rocking of the body and compression applied over the towel to the main muscle groups and acupressure points.

Self help/Eduaction- I will give you some stretches you can do at home/work as well as some ideas on pain control you could try, helping to put you in control of the pain.
